Who we are
Hypermaps Ltd (company number 17443242, registered in England and Wales) is the data controller for personal data described in this policy. Our registered office and full contact details are on our company details page. You can reach us at privacy@hypermaps.org.
What we collect on this website
This website is a static informational site. It does not use cookies, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, and does not require or offer an account.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical data when a page is requested — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent and referrer.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we hold your email address and the content of your message.
We do not collect special category data through this website, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Why we process it, and our lawful basis
- Serving and securing the website — server logs. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (operating a secure, functioning site).
- Answering your enquiry — correspondence. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or performance of a contract where your message relates to one.
- Meeting legal obligations — where we must retain records under company, tax or consumer law. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
How long we keep it
Server logs are retained for no more than 30 days. Correspondence is retained for up to 24 months from our last exchange, unless a longer period is required to meet a legal obligation or to handle a dispute.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions — our website host and our email provider — and with professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where it applies. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@hypermaps.org. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113.
Our applications
Our mobile applications are covered by their own privacy policies, published on each application's own website and linked from its App Store and Google Play listing. This policy does not cover them.
Third-party services
This site links to Discord. Once you follow that link you are on a third-party service governed by its own privacy policy, not ours.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
